Prof. Li Min’s research group attended 8th International Symposium on Autophagy (8th ISA), May 29 - June 1, 2017. The 8th International Symposium on Autophagy (ISA) is one of the most prestigious international meetings in the autophagy field. The first ISA was organized by Prof. Yoshinori Ohsumi (the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine) in 1997. Since then, there has been tremendous progress in the field, and now autophagy research is consistently among hot topics in scientific research field. The 8th ISA cover a broad range of topics from basic biology to disease-related science in autophagy area and there were more than 300 participants attended this conferences. The venue of this conference was located in the center of Nara Park abundant in historical atmosphere. Nara was, in fact, the capital of Japan from 710 to 784 and is an even older capital than Kyoto.
Prof. Li Min’s group presented 7 posters in the conference. The members of CPDR not only enjoyed the science with fruitful discussion with prestigious scientists in autophagy area came from all around the world, but also found many research collaborative opportunities as well as experienced traditional Japanese culture at Nara during the conference.
